One of DIRECTV’s most versatile perks is the ability to choose how you receive your signal. You can opt for the traditional satellite route (perfect for rural areas) or connect via your existing internet connection with DIRECTV’s streaming plans. This flexibility allows you to avoid installing a satellite dish if you prefer a simpler plug-and-play experience.

Want permanent premiums? You’ll need to upgrade.
DIRECTV almost always includes a multi-month trial of premium networks when you sign up for its mid- to high-tier packages. Like, I’ve been updating this page for over three years, and this deal has always existed.
But if you want permanent premium channels, you’ll have to upgrade to DIRECTV’s top-tier package. DIRECTV Premier comes with all the premium channels you get trials of on the lower plans—HBO Max, CINEMAX, Paramount+ Premium, and STARZ—at no extra cost.
Sports-centric perks
As with premium channels, you’ll also need to upgrade from DIRECTV’s base package to get the best sports content. DIRECTV frequently bundles sports packages or regional sports networks (RSNs) into its CHOICE™ package and above. If you’re a sports fan, look for deals that include the DIRECTV Sports Pack or specific league passes, which can save you a significant amount over buying them as standalone add-ons.

How can I get DIRECTV to lower my bill?
- Call at +1-800-347-3288.
- Ask to speak with DIRECTV’s customer retention department.
- Politely explain that your payment is too high and that you want to see if could do anything to lower it.
- It doesn’t hurt to tell that you’re researching other providers, either.

What DIRECTV packages include Max?
Four packages include HBO Max, but only one doesn’t charge you to keep the channel after the first year of service. DIRECTV’s ENTERTAINMENT All Included package (and higher) includes HBO Max free for three months. PREMIER All Included is DIRECTV’s most robust package, and there’s no upcharge for HBO Max after the first year. You also get CINEMAX, Paramount+ Premium, and STARZ with PREMIER.

No, DIRECTV doesn’t have a loyalty discount, but it often offers rewards and incentives to both new and existing customers. Some deals may apply when signing up as a new customer.
