Curious About Sparklight? Look No Further For A Comprehensive Guide to Sparklight Internet, TV, and Home Phone

We've researched all of Sparklight's plans and packages so you don't have to.

What services does Sparklight offer?

Sparklight offers cable internet, TV, and home phone service across 19 U.S. states.

Sparklight’s internet plans have dropped their data caps, making them a solid option for contract-free internet. Sparklight’s TV plans are overpriced, though (although they don’t require a bundle as many internet/TV providers do—a positive in our eyes).

Read on to learn the basics of Sparklight before you sign up.

Why you should trust us: Our editorial team collectively spends thousands of hours comparing, testing, and researching every major service provider to keep our guides and reviews up-to-date.

We also work closely with our compliance specialists to verify brand pricing, deals, and terms to make sure we’re bringing you the most accurate information possible.

Sparklight isn’t offering any big deals or perks right now. We’ll update this when that changes.

Sparklight internet plans are affordable, but watch out for price hikes

Package Price* Download speeds up to Upload speeds up to Data cap
Connect Internet 100 $25.00/mo. 100 Mbps 20 Mbps N/A View plan
Freedom Connect 300 $34.95/mo. 300 Mbps 20 Mbps N/A View plan
Freedom Connect 600 $44.95/mo. 600 Mbps 30 Mbps N/A View plan
Freedom Connect Gig $59.95/mo. 1,000 Mbps 50 Mbps N/A View plan

Data as of post date. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

If you’re looking at Sparklight internet plans, we recommend skipping over the Connect Internet 100 plan and starting with Freedom Connect 300, which gives you more freedom (pun intended) to browse the internet, online game, and take video calls with less chance of buffering or lagging.

Sparklight’s internet plans are great values, with their 1 Gig plan going for less than $60, one of the cheapest currently on the market. We also appreciate them dropping their old super-small data caps from their plans.

Beware, though, that after 12 months, your monthly bill will go up—we’re not fans of price hikes.

Sparklight TV plans are overpriced for their low channel counts

Package Price Channel count Details
Economy $54.00/mo. 20+ View plan
Standard $121.75/mo. 100+ View plan
Digital Value Pack add-on Add $16.00/mo. 24+ View plan

Data as of post date. Offers and availability may vary by location and are subject to change.

Sparklight TV packages are relatively straightforward, if overpriced. Ignore the Economy package—it’s not worth paying monthly for all the same local channels that you can get for a one-time fee with an over-the-air (OTA) antenna.

The Standard Cable TV plan’s slimness doesn’t warrant the hefty price tag, considering you can get 290+ channels from DISH for over $10 cheaper per month.

Interestingly, like Verizon Fios and DIRECTV STREAM, Sparklight has also switched from delivering channels via cable to a streaming TV setup. You’ll use an Amazon Fire TV Stick (first one’s free) instead of a cable box. The cloud DVR stores 200 HD hours and you’ll have unlimited simultaneous recordings.

Sparklight offers multiple home phone packages for those who still want the security of a landline.

We go over the details in the chart above, but the short of it is: if all you want is a landline for emergencies, go with the Economy plan, which runs $30 less than the Standard plan. For some more useful bells and whistles (which we go into detail on in our in-depth Sparklight phone review), go with Standard.

Plus, when you pair your Sparklight standard phone plan with a Sparklight internet package, you can save $32 off the total price.

Is Sparklight worth it?

Sparklight’s TV plans aren’t worth their hefty price tags, but its internet plans can be good options, especially now that they’ve ditched the data caps. Plus we appreciate the multiple home phone options—and their bundle discounts.

Sparklight FAQ

Does Sparklight require a contract?

No, Sparklight plans are month-to-month, so you can duck out any time without having to worry about paying early termination fees.

Why is Cable ONE now Sparklight?

Sparklight has some fancy explanations for it, but in short—branding. Sparklight isn’t a new company or separate from Cable ONE at all; it just changed the big sign out front.

Does Sparklight have a data cap?

Each Sparklight plan comes with an individualized speed and data allowance—both of which are pretty ugly. We feel like Sparklight plans aren’t worth it until you get to Internet 200, which gives you 200 Mbps and a 700 GB cap for $65 a month.

If you want to bundle with a Sparklight TV package, Sparklight’s internet, TV, and phone bundle with Internet 200 is $196.75 a month for up to 100 channels, 200 Mbps, a 700 GB cap, and unlimited calling. It’s not the greatest, but it’s okay if Sparklight’s your only option.
