Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick have been together for seven years and have two kids together (and one on the way). However, when it comes to marriage, Kardashian isn’t quite ready. Kris Jenner, on the other hand, is totally ready — and wants her and Disick to get married on “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” in an effort to boost the ratings.
“Kris is hoping Kourt’s wedding will save their show,” a source revealed to OK! Magazine. “She’s throwing around crazy ideas like a circus theme with tigers and trapeze artists.”
During the early years of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” the show was a major hit for the E! Nework. In its first month, the series became the highest-rated show on Sunday nights, and as the series continued, it received an average of 1.3 million viewers. During season two, the series was viewed by an average of 1.6 million viewers. As the show continued, the ratings continued to increase. The season four finale, which included Kim’s wedding to Kris Humphries, captured 3.2 million viewers, and season five debuted to 3.11 viewers. Then, by season eight, viewership had decreased with an average of 2.3 million viewers.
“Kris thinks a fall wedding—televised on E!—would be perfect for the new season,” the source continued. “She has suggested that after they announce the wedding date, Kourtney should walk out on Scott. Then he’ll have to win her back in time for the wedding.”
While a wedding has yet to be confirmed, what has been confirmed is Kardashian’s third pregnancy. On June 4, sources revealed to Us Weekly that she were pregnant with her third child, and days later, during the super trailer for “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” fans watched as Disick learned of the news.
This isn’t the first time Jenner has been accused of pressuring the couple to tie the knot. Back in Nov. 2012, Radar Online reported that the former talk show host wanted to see the pair walk down the aisle, also for an episode of the show. At the time, the reported ratings ploy went as far as Disick ring shopping, but at the end of the day, Kardashian wasn’t on board with the marriage — and she may not be now, either
In 2012, the eldest Kardashian admitted to having commitment issues on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” telling the host, “I can’t commit to anything… but I love Scott, and he is my partner. We are committed to each other, we are together, we have a great partnership.”
One year later, Disick spoke out, as well.
“I think if it’s not broke, don’t fix it,” he told Ryan Seacrest, also explaining that his would-be wife simply is not interested in walking down the aisle.
“I would say we’re decently happy,” he said. “I feel like I used to want to get married more than she did, and then, being that she was always so not interested, I’ve decided not to be.”
More recently, the pair have mum on any plans to marry, but in March 2014, the mommy of two gushed over Disick, calling him an “amazing partner and daddy.”
As for whether or not Kardashian and Disick would consider a televised wedding, it seems to be a possibility — if they were to marry, that is. After all, since she gave birth on camera (twice), it just doesn’t seem too far-fetched to think that she would marry on camera as well.
