The Real Housewives of Orange County‘s ninth season is currently in production, and recently, one big secret regarding the cast was leaked.

“The Real Housewives of Orange County has found a new star after season eight’s major cast shakeup,” E! News reported on December 2. “Shannon Beador has been chosen as the latest cast addition to RHOC, according to Housewife Tamra Barney, who broke the news via Instagram, while attending the USC-UCLA football game over the weekend.”

According to E!, Shannon is a “40-something Newport Beach resident” and “is married to a man named David, who owns a construction company, and she is a mother of three (including twins).”

Tamra’s Instagram post got the buzz going, much to the dismay of Bravo. The network always does its best to keep cast details private and reportedly demanded Tamara’s postings be removed.

Although Tamra did eventually delete the photos and details about Shannon, the damage was already done and media outlets everywhere picked up on “new housewife Shannon.”

While one identity has been blown, there is still at least one more wife who has been brought on for season 9 and so far, there haven’t been any hints.

“RHOC is currently shooting its ninth season, and has plenty of space to fill, with Alexis Bellino, Gretchen Rossi and Lydia McLaughlin all off the show,” the site reports. “Vicki Gunvalson, Heather Dubrow and Tamra are staying on the series, which is the original-recipe version of the Real Housewives franchise.”

Regarding the recent cast changes, Vicki Gunvalson, for one, seems to be excited for the most part.

“I’m sad about Alexis — she was very beautiful and good eye candy for the viewers,” Vicki told the UK’s Daily Mail in a recent interview. “But Lydia, I never really knew.”

As for Gretchen, Vicki denied claims of bullying and told the site that she was feeling good about her exit.

“I never bullied her — that’s just not true, and I’m glad she’s gone,” Gunvalson said. “She’s a troublemaker, and 90 percent of her stuff was fake.”

Two weeks ago, Gretchen seemed out of the loop with the latest rumors and despite several cast members, including Lydia, who also left after season 8, Tamra, and Vicki, confirming the news, she made it appear as though Bravo hadn’t yet made a decision.

“[Gretchen] made it very clear that headlines saying she’s been axed by Bravo are false. Gretchen implied that the decision is hers to make, but it sounds like she’s leaning towards leaving,” Christy Reports announced at the end of last month.

As for why Gretchen would be okay with leaving the hit show, the site claimed it was because she had something else lined up for her future.

“It must have something to do with the pack of reality TV cameras she points out to me in the video,” the site reported. “They followed her around all night and I noticed one of them had on a badge that said Marriage Bootcamp.”

Either way, both The Real Housewives of Orange County and Gretchen Rossi appear to be headed in positive directions.
