If you live in a rural area, satellite may be the only available internet type. Between Viasat and Hughesnet, we’d have to pick Viasat because of its faster internet speeds and better data allowance. But Hughesnet isn’t a bad option if you prioritize your pocketbook over your internet time.

DIRECTV satellite TV service is available almost anywhere in the country, includes the Genie DVR at no extra cost, and is the best TV provider for sports. But DIRECTV is losing NFL SUNDAY TICKET this fall. It’s too bad, though, that DIRECTV has contracts, high prices—including a steep second-year price hike—and limited bundling options.
