Chad Carroll recently made his debut on “Million Dollar Listing Miami,” a new Bravo series.
As one of the top real estate brokers in Miami, Carroll was a great choice for Bravo. He fits right in with his super successful franchise mates, including Fredrik Eklund of “Million Dollar Listing New York” and Josh Altman and Madison Hildebrand of “Million Dollar Listing LA,” the franchise’s first installment.
Since 2011, Carroll has closed over $200 million in sales and, for the last two years, was named Douglas Elliman’s top broker. As a result of his success, Carroll garnered the nickname “The King of Closing.”
In an exclusive interview with CableTV, Carroll opened up about his business, his co-stars and the “Million Dollar Listing” franchise.
Q: How long have you been in the real estate business?
Carroll: I’ve been in real estate since 2009; a total of six years.
Q: What led you to go down that particular career path?
Carroll: I’m a businessman and real estate has always been a passion of mine.
Q: What do you like most about real estate?
Carroll: I like how every day is different and that I’m constantly meeting and interacting with amazing people.
Q: How did you get cast for “Million Dollar Listing Miami?”
Carroll: I feel that I was chosen for MDL Miami because I am the best at what I do. Not only do I sell dream homes in Miami, I sell the lifestyle and everything that goes with it. My clientele and resume speaks for itself.
Q: Had you seen “Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles” or “Million Dollar Listing New York” prior to signing on?
Carroll: Yes I have always been a big fan of the franchise.
Q: Are you familiar with the stars of those shows? Who are your favorite stars of those shows?
Carroll: I respect all of them immensely. It is tough to open up your life and have cameras follow you around. It’s hard to pick a specific favorite cast member because I think they are all great in different ways.
Q: Which cast member would you say you are most similar to?
Carroll: I think that Fredrik and I have similar business goals and are always striving to be at the top.
Q: On the show, what will fans be seeing from you as far as your personality goes?
Carroll: You’ll see two sides of me. When it comes to business I come across very strong and intense but in my personal life I am completely different. My girlfriend Jen brings out my softer side.
Q: Are things competitive between you and your co-stars?
Carroll: Things are very competitive. There are big commissions at stake and I want to be the one to make them. The Miami Luxury market is very cutthroat, so it takes a lot of work being the best of the best.
Q: How would you describe each of your co-stars?
Carroll: I didn’t really know Chris before the show, but I did however know Sam. I’ve always tried to support her throughout her career. You will see that Sam, Chris, and I have extremely different selling approaches and personalities throughout the season.
“Million Dollar Listing Miami” airs Wednesday’s on Bravo at 9 p.m.
