Dina Manzo is back on Bravo for season six of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
Following a three-season hiatus, the newly separated mother has rejoined her longtime friend, Teresa Giudice, for the next season of the Bravo show.
“I’m asked back pretty much every year to be honest with you. It never felt right,” Manzo revealed to E! News of her return. “This year, it kind of felt right between the changes going on in my life, and Teresa and I have organically gotten closer this past summer because of what she’s going through…We became close friends again, hanging out, and it organically just happened. And they asked me last-minute. I came in last-minute.”
Although Manzo was one of the five original wives of the series, she didn’t last past season two.
In 2010, following filming on the second season, Manzo explained to E! News that she had opted to leave the show in order to rid her life of co-star Danielle Staub. During the season, the two had been involved in an ongoing feud and, according to Manzo, leaving the series was her only way out.
Also following filming, Manzo’s feud with her sister, Caroline, raged on, which isn’t something she wants to see play out on television.
While Caroline had been with the series up until season five, she recently moved on to focus on her own spinoff, “Manzo’d With Children,” which made for the perfect opportunity for Manzo to rejoin the cast.
Since the announcement of Manzo’s return, Giudice stayed silent. But judging by their relationship, she’s surely thrilled to have her on board. Also staying mum is Melissa Gorga.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Manzo and Gorga had butted heads during filming, but thus far, that appears to be untrue. In recent weeks, the two have been buddy-buddy during interviews about the upcoming season, and at last month’s NBC Upfront, they even walked the red carpet together.
Manzo also appears to be close with the new wives and told E! they were “a lot of fun” during filming.
So, if Dina Manzo is a fan of all of her co-stars, who is she feuding with? Apparently, the answer to that question is her husband — and fans will be seeing their feud on the show.
“It was brutal, gut-wrenching,” Manzo told Life & Style about detailing her divorce from her estranged husband, Tommy Manzo, who is rumored to have cheated, on “The Real Housewives of New Jersey.” “But I told myself that what I’m going through, some of the viewers are going through — if I can help them, that is my goal.”
