Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Catwalk Turns Catty: Model Disses Taylor Swift

Victoria’s Secret model Jessica Hart demonstrated the fine art of putting your stiletto-heeled foot in your mouth when she dissed pop country darling Taylor Swift at the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which was filmed in November, but airs on CBS December 10. When asked by Women’s Wear Daily if the all-American singer fit in with this year’s show, Hart commented, “No. I think, you know what, God bless her heart. I think she’s great. But, I don’t know, to me, she didn’t fit. I don’t know if I should say that.” Uh, no, you probably shouldn’t have said that. Then she went on to try to clarify her comments. “I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we’ve been working for 14, 15 years. What it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It’s definitely the benchmark of all jobs.” Because, you know, those Victoria’s Secret models are such old souls, and Swift hasn’t had hardly any performance experience and surely has precious little confidence after performing in front of stadiums of fans for years. At least compared to Hart, who is essentially “filler” amongst the more recognizable angels. Dear Ms. Hart: please stop while you’re behind. Please? Then rumors ran wild that the model had been...

Syfy’s New Ghost Hunters Make “Killer Contact”: Interview with Austin Cook

Tonight, Syfy is debuting a new series, Killer Contact, which was created by the producers of Ghost Huntersand is a whole new breed of ghost hunting show. “Point Man” Austin Cook took some time to chat with CableTV about the new series and his team, plus the bad villains they chase on the other side. Q: I’ve seen the first two episodes of the show and because it is from the same producers as Ghost Hunters, I was expecting the same vibe and the same approach, but you guys are definitely different. Can you tell me how you differ from that show particularly and some of the other paranormal shows out there? A: Absolutely. First off, this seems like a much more high-energy show. We’re basically a rapid response team that goes to the stomping grounds of the most notoriously evil people in history … For some reason there’s all this paranormal activity happening to these witnesses and they really do believe it’s tied into the specific locations. It’s a lot more dangerous, I guess you could say. We’re not just going into these locations to check and see if it’s haunted. We already know it could be off of the witnesses’ claims. I mean, these are some of the most evil people in history, like Jack the Ripper. There are so many questions tied to each particular case. For...

Does a “Sons of Anarchy” Teaser Video Hold Clues to Other Character Deaths?

Everyone was expecting Tara to die Tuesday night on “Sons of Anarchy,” but instead, the writers killed off the fallen patriarch of the club, Clay. But with Tara still on thin ice and considering a deal for immunity for her upcoming trial, could we lose her or any other major characters before the season ends? And does a pre-season teaser trailer hold the answers to more major character deaths before we’re done? Because if it does, not only Tara is in line, but Gemma herself. The video teaser shows the club members riding by a building with the faces of Gemma, Tara and Clay painted on it. As the bikers ride by, sections of the building explode in slow motion, one at a time. First, Gemma explodes, then Clay, then Tara. Was this a foreshadowing of which main characters die this season on “Sons of Anarchy?” One could argue that they simply painted faces on the building of people who don’t ride with the club, as Clay has been kicked out. So that could be the case, but it seems they would choose something more symbolically relevant for a video preview. Could it simply be a metaphor for how their lives have been destroyed by the club? That theory doesn’t really work, either, as Gemma seems to be doing just fine… at least for the moment. Sure, she nearly...

The New Odd Couple on ‘Sleepy Hollow’

“Sleepy Hollow” delivers a new take on the classic tale of the Headless Horsemen, but it also gives viewers another classic plot device: the odd couple. And despite being a male and female partnership, like Oscar and Felix, this relationship is strictly platonic. Who knew that was even possible in Hollywood? Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and Lt. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) find themselves working together to solve the mystery of Crane’s past and a headless guy in Revolutionary War attire cutting off the heads of various people, including people close to Mills. The most obvious difference between the pair — coming from different time periods — is only the tip of the iceberg of the bizarre relationship between these characters. You would think that someone would find some contemporary clothing for Crane, as over half way through the season, the guy is still wearing his old colonial uniform. Call me crazy, but that seems like something Mills would want to correct so he’d blend in a little better. But hey, that’s just me. Besides the obvious clothing differences, the most striking difference is their physical appearance and stature. Mills is African-American and Crane is good ol’ pasty complexion British. Crane towers over the tiny Mills, even though she’s almost always in heels of some kind. You just know that when they were sitting in the writers’ room hashing out...
