5 Stars from the “Teen Mom” Series with Second and Third Children

The MTV series “Teen Mom” and its spinoffs “Teen Mom 2” and “Teen Mom 3” follow the stories of young parents raising babies while they are still children themselves. And now many of the stars of these shows have welcomed their second or third child into the world. Here are five of our favorites:

1. Catelynn Lowell

Last week, Catelynn Lowell of “Teen Mom” announced she was expecting her second child with her fiancé, Tyler Baltierra.

Lowell shared her exciting news with fans by posting the first photo of her baby bump on Instagram. Along with the photo, she wrote, “#It’sofficial #4months @TylerBaltierraMTV.”

Lowell and Baltierra were the only pair from the series or any of its spinoffs to choose adoption for their first daughter, Carly. It was an emotional journey for the pair and something they still struggle with today.

One day after the couple’s baby news, Baltierra took to Instagram, where he shared a throwback photo of himself, Lowell and Carly, with the caption, “The moment we never wanted to end.”

2. Jenelle Evans

Earlier this summer, Jenelle Evans, of “Teen Mom 2,” became the third star to welcome her second child, giving birth to son Kaiser on June 30.

After meeting Nathan Griffith on a dating app in June 2013, Evans revealed plans for a second child. In December of that same year, she officially announced she and Griffith would be welcoming a child together.

On the second half of the fifth season of “Teen Mom 2,” fans will see Evans give birth to Kaiser, as well as the moments that followed. Even before that episode airs, fans have seen photos of him on social media.

Evans sees her first son, Jace, regularly. He is five-years-old now and she has yet to regain custody of him. Instead, her mother, Barbara Evans, is Jace’s legal guardian.

3. Kailyn Lowry

Kailyn Lowry, also of “Teen Mom 2,” gave birth to her second child, Lincoln Marshall Marroquin, on November 16, 2013. Isaac Elliot Rivera is her oldest son, who was born on January 18, 2010 to Kailyn and her now ex-boyfriend, Jo Rivera.

Lincoln is the son of Kailyn and her husband Javi Marroquin, who serves in the Air Force. Because of his role in the service, he has to take time away from his family for training and work, but he is a good father and husband, showing a lot of patience to Kailyn. She talks about their relationship, as well as her relationship with Jo and more in her book “Pride Over Pity,” which she released earlier this year.

4. Leah Messer Calvert

In February 2013, Leah and her husband, Jeremy, welcomed Adalynn Faith Calvert, the third child for Leah and the first for Jeremy.

For weeks after the birth, the Calvert family kept Adalynn a secret from the public. They later debuted the first photos of their baby via “US Weekly.”

Leah had twin girls, Aliannah and Aleeah, with Corey Simms on December 16, 2009. The couple divorced in April 2011. She met Jeremy on Facebook shortly thereafter and the couple married in April 2012.

Calvert and her husband go through many ups and downs on “Teen Mom 2,” but, during a recent chat online, Calvert told fans she and Jeremy would like to add a boy to their family of five.

5. Mackenzie Douthit McKee

The only star of “Teen Mom 3” on our list, Mackenzie, welcomed her second child earlier this year. She gave birth to a daughter, Jaxie Taylor, on February 7, 2014.

Mackenzie, a former cheerleader, had her first child with Josh McKee, a bull rider, when she was 16 years old. They had a son, Gannon McKee, on September 12, 2011. The couple were wed before their daughter joined their family. Both of the pregnancies were complicated due to Mackenzie’s blood sugar problems.

Because MTV aimed at spreading the word on pregnancy prevention when they launched the “16 and Pregnant” series years ago, the stars’ second pregnancies seem to be in direct conflict with the goal. However, as long as these people are happy and can care for their children, we wish them all the best.
